Will Somebody save "The Last Man on Earth"...

Don't get me wrong here, I know that there is a lot of underrated television out there today but man oh man!!! Last man on earth was truly something different. A story about the "supposed" last man on earth is a storyline that could go stale quicker  than a sourdough left out, yet they kept it fresh!  Even though this show was written as a comedy with some bits of drama, actually there is quite a bit of drama in it, making it a drama-dy. It touches on aspects of the end of the world like no other show. Such topics that are brought up are what to do when gasoline goes bad or what happens to the people in space and the nuclear plants. These are topics that no other show touches. The Walking Dead has been on for YEARS but not once did they consider what to do with all the vehicles once fuel runs out or goes bad. It gave the show a very bleak and serious touch when dropping "turds" or "oh fart" lines. The final episode was and is ...

What Happened to New Jersey...

Things are always changing here in good ol' Jersey. As of lately... for the worse.  Over the past few years it has become increasingly tough to maintain a life in New Jersey. For those of you that think it's all Guidos and nightclubs on the beach, well.. that's one reason it's been getting tougher. It seems that businesses here and landlords alike are only interested in satisfying the needs of the summer crowd that plagues, yes...plagues, our lovely little oasis. Not only are there no places to live year round but the cost of staying here is ridiculous. It seems to me that landlords want a chunk of that New York money that is no longer enough to sustain a life in the big city and its surrounding areas. I have seen the rent go up in our area at least twice a year for the past few years and there is no knowing when it will stop. I am sick to my stomach with knowing that it is only a matter of time before we go broke and are flat on our asses and forced to va...

Our neighbors are evil & they hate us...

I recently wrote how we have lived with rude neighbors throughout the years but nothing like what we experienced just a couple days ago. For those that have kids you know what teething can be like and the menacing behavior that accompanies it. Our daughter has six teeth coming in all at once so needless to say, it's been rough. More than anything we wish we could trade places with her. This must be something that our upstairs neighbors have forgotten. Note, they have a grown son so they have been where we are. It was a fine morning until we heard , what sounded like, a flipped table come from upstairs. The husband upstairs began screaming at his wife and telling... actually... ordering her to go downstairs and tell us to shut our f**king baby up. He continued to go on about it sounds like we are rolling bowling balls across the floor. Weird to think this is possible especially since we live on the first floor. This went on for quite some time even going as far as screaming at his ...

Back in the Outback...

So a couple of months ago I purchased yet another Subaru. I got myself my ultimate dad wagon. A 2001 Subaru Outback. It came with 205K on the miles, scratches…err.. scars along its sides from god knows what and some usual issues that you would expect from an old gal like this one. By the way, this is the first time that any of my cars was a female or any gender at all. They all have had their names that went along with them from Ol Blue to Equinso Ocha. Since this one is old, ugly form its scars and that annoying sea foam green that is starting to grow on me, this Outback has been dubbed Slug. Also due to the fact that she did not have a good pickup went we got it on the road.  I was very happy to be back in the driver seat of the most comfortable car I have ever driven. Once I was in the seat it was like I never left. Mind you, I got this car on the cheap so there were some issues, like I said earlier and that was to be expected. The engine had a slight bleed and a squeak ...

She did it again... and again...

One of my few last entries held the content that informed the readers that my sweet little daughter pooped whilst bathing. Since that time it has happened again and as the the titles informs you, again. The second time was not so bad because I found myself ready to deal but there was no amount of readiness for the third. The reason being... not to gross you out, the consistency. I was unable to grasp and dump what could not be grasped...and dumped. It was gross. It was so gross that I needed to alert my wife that IT happened again. It was a good thing all the washing was done. The worst part of this unpleasant ordeal is not the substance itself, rather it is the action of trying to play with the substance once it is in view. I am sure that this will not be the last time this happens. Swimming pools will never be the same.

I'm Glad that's over

Some of you may have noticed my sudden absence. I found it tough to express the thoughts bouncing around my head when more pressing matters were at hand. For the past two weeks i was unemployed and what seemed like unemployable. With reasons spanning from me not having a bachelors degree, which is asinine considering the positions, to me having a wide range of work history. So! That means I know how to do a lot of different shit! I can sell, I can lead, I can create, my customer service is top notch, I know how to sell a house, wire a light switch, change a hard drive and take a food order. The whole thing was extremely frustrating especially when my dream company expressed tons of interest and suddenly dropped me out of the running due to no degree. It did not help that I had to keep explaining that my previous company provided software and not cell phones. But as they always say, this too shall pass. And it did. I recently started as the coordinator of all things office for my BI...

Finding Stability in a Start Up World

As some of you know, I had the pleasure of being laid off on Halloween. This was not foreseen but could have been avoided by the company. This is the second firm that I was let go from in two years.  The first instance was a great startup digital marketing firm. The product was great but the company was still in the pocket of its investors. When the investors weren't getting their return as quickly as they liked, the department was shut down and a skeleton crew remained. The company again was great and I get how this could not be avoided.  The second time this could have been avoided completely. I was brought in during a time where there was rapid growth and the company was expanding, this is what I was told. No investors to impress and feed. Just a great software to push and people actually needed it. Perfect set up... almost. Turns out there was no true plan to the expansion. So it ended up just being me. Just me pushing the service, managing the sales and bringing ...

First Year Down!

Image
A whole year has flown by since we brought home our little peanut, pickle-puss, kid, baby or more commonly known as... Mealz. The best way to explain this past year is that you never realize how quick time flies when you have no time to think about it. With all of the diapers, sleepless nights, which I seem to be able to function with, the bottles, the baths, the messy meals and sleepless nights... did I already say that? Now that she is a whole year older, things have changed. Our little peanut has turned into a bruiser! She used to pound around on her knees and not she up! Getting herself into all sorts of trouble. I said this in an earlier post that it was cute in the beginning but now it's just scary seeing how she can pull things down and get on top of pretty much whatever she wants. We went from sleepless nights to all out worry and panic all day until she goes to bed. Seeing a human grow from a fragile being to a walking talking almost member of ...

Update: Hispanic Vegetarian

It pains me to say...I have failed as a vegetarian. I lasted longer than  i ever thought but not as long as I hoped. Reasons for my change back come from all over. I found it very tough to stick to vegetarian while my wife was not. We have opposing blood types me and her. My blood thrives on the vegetarian diet while hers does not. My wife is also the best cook i know and I'm not just saying that. The girl is a magician in the kitchen and its nor fair to either of us when she prepares her favorite dish roasted chicken with vegetables. Oh man...it really is something. She works very hard to prepare each meal, minus breakfast...sometimes, that we eat. She takes a lot of pride in sourcing her ingredients to ensure the quality of the meals. There were some health points that popped up as well. One major health issue was my hair. That stuff was coming out like crazy. Found out it was because I was not getting enough vitamins or something like that. Once I started ...

Update: Repairman Jack series finale: Nightworld

Image
So the time has finally come... i have finished my journey through the trials and tribulations of the saga that is , or was, Repairman Jack. Please note: there may be some spoilers ahead. As you may already know from a previous post, i have been following the Repairman Jack storyline for a very long time. His saga is the largest in my personal library, Harry Potter is second. F. Paul Wilson's Nightworld is the conclusion of the tale. Not only Jacks ending tale but the end point for the Adversary Cycle as well. The end begins shortly after the events of Dark at the End with large holes opening up around the world. First one in Central Park. With the Lady wiped out from the last novel, Rasalom is now free to begin his reign of terror on our existing sphere in place as a direct champion chosen by the Otherness. Rasalom crawls down into the hole and fixes himself into a position so he can begin his transformation into a true nightmare of a being. Day after day the ...

The Princess is mobile!

Our lives have been forever changed... Our daughters birthday is just a couple short weeks away and we could not be more happy, excited, exhausted, thrilled and as of now, on high alert. Our little one has learned to stand and after realizing what happens when she moves one foot in front of the other to get from one spot, usually the couch, to another, usually to something she is not supposed to touch. My how she has changed the game. Uh oh.. When she began walking at 11 months, we were thrilled but now seeing how much more we need to watch her has us on high alert. It used to be "Oh she's crawling, she can't get into too much trouble". But now!! Forget about it. Everything is trouble! In the coming days we will need to reorganize our living space and remove all low lying fruit such as candles, heavy items and any other common houslehold item that could cause death, not really but you never know! Even my wifes purse on the top of the couch gets me wondering, I...

UPDATE: A professional is quite rare...

This note reflects a very recent happening a my job and is an update of my past post I am in sales and sell sms software to marketing agencies. As you all know, if you're in the United States anyways, our southern most region was just hit by the largest recorded hurricane in history. The support for our software is located in Florida. Phones were down which happens when a hurricane hits an area, phones and Internet are usually the second item to go after the power. Client from the Midwest calls in and is FURIOUS that he is unable to get through. Not only does he claim that it is unacceptable but after telling him that our support is in Florida and there was a major hurricane that happened just the day before, he goes ahead and say this. "I don't give a shit about a storm , I have a business to run and unlike you East Coast Bitches, I know how to run a business". I reply: "Sir, I understand that you are upset but power is still out at our support centre. Th...
